talking honest here, architecture didnt give me anything but pain and hate for the field. yet i've managed to arrive 5th grade and i might be graduating soon this year. I hate my department and im already sure i will hate my job. Wish me luck, i just want my parents to shut up and accept im indeed clever enough to get the degree they want me to get, but im in fact a language person. They wouldnt support me if i was to study what i wanted. So i lived a hell for 5 years. damn. I wanted to tell all of this because the end of the video encouraged me to do so. sorry.

I love so many aspects of architecture but the workload is killing me. I am a slow worker, I take my time on things and the amount of different projects I have to do at the same time causes for me to take no time off. Recently found out I now have depression and anxiety from all the stress. I struggle so much to even go up to my PC to change titles in my portfolio. I am on my way to healing and want to change my mindset when it comes to university.

Im in my third year, but I still feel like a first year. My skills are so behind. And yes, I do procrastinate a lot. Not because I'm a perfectionist but I feel really insecure when I'm with my classmates and see their work. I'm not even sure if I could pass my design subject this sem 😔 Thanks for the tips! I wish I saw this vid way back before I was still in freshmen year.

I procrastinate and really hate this phase. Specially when I see my other friends working everyday in other fields flawlessly and I'm having hard time to keep up with the normal work flow

I stopped studying for a year due to online class, I know it's not okay for everyone depending on your financial and mental status.

I got a job to earn for my laptop, still I'm in process of learning architecture. Whenever I got time to study on my own, getting back to my old notes in second yr, I've alway been struggling on how to start and where to start.

Any suggestions or help? I suddenly got lost and don't know where to focus. The struggle is real when you don't have books related to architecture, no laptop no pc. Only smart phone, but it is alright me. As long as I'm willing to learn there is no impossible.

Thank you for this !!!! I’m in my first semester and have been finding it hard ahahaha. I definitely relate in that I procrastinate because I’m scared to “fail” or do badly :). New resolution: to forget about right and wrong. Also your other tutorial videos have been absolutely invaluable ! I’m at the uni of Sheffield in the uk and our staff linked your tutorials in our module as a learning resource ahaha

I'm watching this video bc my math tutor says i have most skills to become a good architect and that i should pursue it and not waste my talent, but idk if it’s for me, if i think i can make it or if i'll like it. What should i do as an artist to see if i would enjoy it as a hobby at least?

    3 years into architecture school
Couldn't say it better myself 🙏🏼
    Just two thing
    – Don't get on your professors bad side… Sometimes even a rumour can cause havoc.
    – learn both programs and hand skills , because if you don't have either if them you can use the other one

Damn! Why do some teachers actually make you feel like you are a mess when you froze at the beginning of a project? That's so annoying and also it can actually kill your passion for the project. Thank you for that point!

Things I’ve learned since working in architecture for a while… you don’t get enough time on projects. Don’t forget to hand sketch daily. People are scared to say “I don’t know” or “l don’t understand”. Learn 3D CAD now. Make sure you understand your end game (those pesky deliverables). The higher up you get the less time you get to design. Value engineering be like that sometimes XD

Im watching this video and made me a little jealous to you guys that are now architecs, sad to say im only a dreamer to be an architec, but my passion in design never stop me for designing although i didnt take a formal schooling for this. I really Love designing it is my dream job. This video teach the importance of enjoying your work whatsoever it is, it is love and passion towards work and art you are surviving. Keep safe all and be happy always with love in designing.

This a marvelous video ! Me myself got sleep 8 hours a week because of crazy designs with short deadline and a lot of pressure from my previous senior. Thank God i'm not working from the company anymore because they only care about the project more than yourself.

"No one should struggle in Architecture" and mind your health priority. This is a great message.

The problem I faced during my academic is how professors criticize your work to make it rigid and minimal, Regardless of your efforts and ideas. Never got a chance to express my design my way. Even though you distant yourself from being competent, there is that one professor who always compare you with others and expects more and fail to appreciate your efforts. 🙂
