Are you thinking of studying architecture when you graduate highschool? Perhaps you wan’t to be an architect when you are older. Maybe you are working in another field and are thinking about switching to architecture. Is it a good career? Is it worth the change? What is architecture like?

Posted at 19:02h, 18 JanuaryI'm currently taking up Architecture in college and oh boy am I in a point where my professors are crushing my dreams lol. I am watching these kinds of videos to motivate myself. This video tells me that it's gonna be worth it. Here's the real deal, you gotta have thick skin. You will eat criticism for breakfast and disappointing grades for snack XD, sometimes even at projects you think you did well enough:((. Nonetheless, don't lose hope, it's all part of the learning process!

Posted at 19:02h, 18 JanuaryI've had interest in architecture for a few years now and recently lost my career in a different field that I wasn't happy with due to COVID, and am now looking to make a change. I'm about to turn 30 and looking to go back to school. In your opinion is this a bad age to consider architecture?

Posted at 19:02h, 18 JanuarySo I’m in high school and I’m kinda expected to choose a career. My best subjects have always been math and art and I’m in forensics so I can public speak quite well, I’m also helping design and build sets for my school musical. But I get bored very easily and feel like I wouldn’t want to get stuck at some job where I just design the same things and not be creative really. So my question is how can you be sure that you get a good job and not just get stuck, and like what is it really like in a day of being like an architect?

Posted at 19:02h, 18 JanuaryIf you want to spend your working life not using your creativity, but essentially making instruction manuals for carpenters and builders, then yes. Architecture is for you. If you want to be creative, do something else. It is an over hyped profession because only architects see the process. Everyone else just sees the finished product.
I've been an Architect since 2000.

Posted at 19:02h, 18 JanuaryI did an Architecture program for 4 years, 9th grade to 12th grade (im in 12th rn) and theres a scholarship opportunity that I was offered because I stuck with them for all 4 years. However, my interest has drawn away from Architecture to Finance, so im in a bit of a dilemma. If I tell them Im not going to do architecture, I wont get the scholarship. What is the smartest choice?

Posted at 19:02h, 18 JanuaryAs long as you find joys in it, you'll be fine. Whether you want to pursuit it for the rest of your life or not, that time and process are still a treasure- for sure :). So dive in and find your answer!

Posted at 19:02h, 18 JanuaryArchitecture is not a great career at all. University is a massive waste of time and money. You play lego for 6 years, learn nothing and somehow it's considered an academic course. Then, you arrive at an office and basically become a human draughting machine for other people. Salary is shit. Not many jobs out there. Not many possibilities to work from home. And if you relocate to a different country your status as an architect diminishes because you don't have experience with local building regulations. I'd stay away from Architecture. It's very demanding and not rewarding at all. Go study computer science or business.
